Ride on Time

Black Box

A ground breaking rave tune, surreal in that the person we saw miming on Top of the Pops was not the original recording artist, heralding a new era in the way music was made.

Outdoors this will go down as a massive tune.

Pounding

Doves

Warrington Guardian:

My favourite single of all time.

Gives me goosebumps every time and there’s obviously a Warrington connection with some of the band coming from the area.

54-46 Was My Number

Toots and the Maytals

A great two tone classic, a great record to slip in to shift the energy.

Gets everyone dancing and if the sun is shining, well, Warrington could always carry off a Caribbean vibe.

All for One

Stone Roses

Warrington Guardian:

I know Warrington loves the Stone Roses, what with the gig at Parr Hall and the Lymm connection with Ian Brown.

This is just a brilliant comeback record and the message in it is very positive, about everyone coming together and standing as one.

I wish more musicians would spread this sort of message through their music, it’s very important – now more than ever.

Saturn 5

Inspiral Carpets

Warrington Guardian:

This really reminds me of summer, it’s one I wrote and I always get asked to play and people sing along to ‘Saturn 5, you really were the greatest sight. Stretching out on a summer’s day’.

Clint Boon will be performing a DJ set, including these five tracks, as part of the finale of Warrington Music Festival and Style Rocks at the Old Fish Market from 6pm on Sunday.

His set will be followed by a co-headline gig with the Lightning Seeds and Reverend and the Makers.
