CHANGES at Cheshire Police come into force today, Monday, with the restructuring to be rolled out over the coming weeks.

The police and crime commissioner John Dwyer spoke to the Warrington Guardian about the changes ahead and the future of policing as austerity cuts continue to be felt.

He said: "I believe the new model with work and the public of Warrington will start to see more police officers on the beat which is direct response by me to their requests [for more officers on the beat].

"As a result they will receive a better quality of policing."
