ONE of Molly Beechall’s closest friends and her work colleagues have so far raised almost £1,000 in memory of the brave teen, who lost her battle to beat cancer earlier this year.

Dionne Raisbeck, aged 20, from Latchford along with the team at Callaghan’s Hairdressing on Sankey Street put their best foot forward to climb Mount Snowdon last month to raise funds for Molly’s Memories.

Hair stylist Dionne, who struck up a friendship with Molly when they attended Bridgewater High School, described it as one of the hardest challenges she ever faced.

She said: “It was more difficult that I thought it was going to be.

“You couldn’t see anything on the way up but it was Molly who kept me going.

“She would have been looking down and laughing and thinking what are you doing?”

Molly died at Clatterbridge Hospital on Tuesday, January 13, at the age of 19 - just three months after being diagnosed with secondary bone disease.

The climb and descent took around five hours but Dionne added that she would never have given up.

“We have been best friends since we started high school,” added Dionne.

“We were all there to support her and I hope I have done her proud.”
