MORE than 700 pupils came together to fill the Halliwell Jones Stadium with song.
A total of 22 schools from across Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn formed a pop choir and performed songs from artists including Sam Smith, One Direction and Clean Bandit to an enthusiastic audience of family and friends who were on their feet dancing.
Organised by Accent Music Education Hub and supported by The Warrington Wolves Foundation and Score Creative Education, the children were given access to an online resource which helped them to learn the songs with in school and at home.
Janice Pounds, strategic lead/arts adviser for Accent Music Education Hub said: "This is an exciting new project for Accent.
"We are really pleased with this first event it gave the children the opportunity to perform outdoors in an amazing stadium."
Steve Oates, director of Score Creative Education added the energy from the children in the stands was fantastic. He said: "When you consider that this was the first time they had performed together, the sound they made together was amazing.
"We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the children involved in the choir, to the teachers who did such a great job preparing them for the event and to everyone who came along to show their support."
