THE Victoria Park Experience (VPX) returned to the town today, Tuesday, with hundreds turning out to enjoy the free event.

VPX is now in its eighth year and was set up by PCSOs Tom Reid and Tony Spruce.

The annual four day event attracts thousands of young people from across Warrington and Cheshire during the summer holidays, giving them the opportunity to try out activities.

The event, which was attended by around 4,000 young people and their families last year, also aims to break down barriers between the police and youngsters.

Warrington Guardian:

PCSO Spruce said: "It all seems to have been going well so far but we would not have been able to do it without the likes of LiveWire and Lloyds.

"We originally came up with the idea because we had a few problems of anti-social behaviour in the area.

"This was a way of giving young people the chance to sign up to different groups and sports while giving them something to do."

Warrington Guardian:

The weekly event will be held every Tuesday in August from 11am to 4pm at Victoria Park in Latchford.
