POLICE officers made 76 arrests during this year’s Creamfields festival.

Chief constable of Cheshire Police Simon Byrne tweeted earlier today to praise the officers involved in policing the site.

He also confirmed that there had been 171 crimes reported at the festival.

Around 70,000 festival goers were expected to descend on Creamfields to enjoy one of Britain’s biggest dance festivals over the bank holiday weekend.

Ahead of Creamfields, Cheshire Constabulary issued a number of warnings about the strict security that would be in place at the festival.

Surrender bins have been installed near to the entrances for festival goers to dispose of any drugs or weapons.

Anyone who refuses to be searched will be denied entry into the dance festival.

More than 100 ecstasy tablets destined for Creamfields were seized by police.

Officers discovered the drugs haul on Friday during a search.

The drugs were hidden in bottles two-in-one Head and Shoulders shampoo and conditioner after the search was carried out at the VIP entrance.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

Police also warned about the dangers of ‘toxic’ purple and yellow pills after the drugs were sighted at Leeds Festival, which also took place this weekend.

Creamfields Cops tweeted for festival goers to watch out for yellow pills with a Rolls Royce logo and purple pill with a Louis Vuitton logo.

On the official Leeds Festival Facebook page, the warning read: "A yellow pill with Rolls Royce logo and a purple pill with a Louis Vuitton logo have been brought to our attention - these are very toxic and seem to result in being hospitalised when taking them.”
