LIBRARIES will now be filled with the sound of music with thanks to songwriter Amy Burns.

The 22-year-old, who performs under the stage name A Me B, has launched a new music project called Lyrical Libraries which integrates English language and literature with creative song writing.

The scheme, which is funded by youth charity Ambition, allows young people between the ages of 12 and 16 to see what it takes to turn ideas into a reality.

Amy, who has held a number of workshops across the town, said: "I have had a lot of good feedback so far.

"I ran a pilot of Golborne Library and it is about getting young people involved and helping them to look at different aspects of song writing.

"I then take them into the studio where they can record their work and perform it in front of family and friends."

The talented songwriter now hopes to roll the programme out to neighbouring towns including Warrington once she has secured the funding.

"It's great to see the transition of some the young people have been involved and how they have grown," she added.
