THE police and crime commissioner for Cheshire is determined to protect victims by easing the stressful nature of the courtroom experience.
As of 2013, Cheshire victims and witnesses have been able to give their evidence via Live Link, an advance which has recently been expanded into Macclesfield and Warrington.
Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer stated: ‘It’s vitally important we support victims and witnesses every step of the way and the live link is a vital tool for witnesses or victims who feel vulnerable or deeply concerned about giving evidence.
He added: ‘I will continue to work with the Constabulary to bring in innovative technology to help the community and improve policing.’
