THE CONSTRUCTION of a new £400k footpath and bridge over Spittle Brook is underway.
Building work in Cinnamon brown began late last month and is scheduled to finish at the end of March.
Cllr Hans Mundry believes the work could have benefits across Warrington.
He said: “Planning permission was granted following a major public consultation process with local residents and businesses and I am delighted that the work will finally begin.
“It’s good news locally and for the wider borough too as it will improve connections to major business zones in the east and west of the borough such as Omega and Gemini.”
Work will be carried out by VBA Joint Venture Ltd, who also completed the Environment Agency’s flood defence work at Spittle Brook.
