THE chief executive of Warrington Youth Club has issued a thank you to a Woolston-based company whose generous donations has saved the charity £15,000.

Sharples Group, who pledged its support for Warrington Youth Club at the High Sheriff Awards for Innovation in March, has donated four printers, a photocopier and a laptop to support the charity's work with children and young people from across Warrington.

During the awards ceremony, the company was presented with the High Sheriff’s Award for Responsible Business Practice.

Mark Brocklehurst, managing director at Sharples Group, said: "We were thrilled to win the award and we are committed to supporting Warrington Youth Club as they grow and develop their services for children and young people in Warrington.

"We are really glad that they will be able to provide more mentoring as a result of the equipment we have donated.”

The donation of the equipment will allow Warrington Youth Club to make a saving of £15,000 over the next three years.

The charity will also be able to provide 75 children and young people with a mentor with the support from Sharples Group.

In recognition of the donation Dave McNicholl, chief executive of the charity, presented the Sharples Group team with a glass brick shaped trophy, engraved with the words ‘Thank you for building a better future for the lives of children and young people in Warrington'.

The company has also been made a silver patron of the organisation.

Dave McNicholl said: “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Sharples Group, the donation allows us to make a saving and put this directly into supporting more children and young people from across Warrington.

"Mark and the team are inspirational in their commitment to supporting others.”
