EARLIER this month in Yester Years we looked at the former Queen's Cinema in Warrington.

And that prompted reader Mrs Stringer to send us this picture of the former Kinema House cinema, which was located on Church Street.

She thinks the picture was taken at the opening of the cinema before the Second World War.

Pictured left to right are Jack, who was killed in the war, Eda Bennet, the chief cashire, Mr Powell, the owner/manager and sitting Alice Dawbarn, Margaret Lathem (nee Crozier) and Lucy.

Mrs Stronger said: "It was our local cinema and we used to go three times a week as the films changed.

"Right up to being married. It was a family thing to meet there and meet with pals when we were teenagers.

"We had some good times there."
