DURING May our Humans of Warrington feature will focus on the people within the community who make a real difference to the town where we live through their volunteer work.

Name: Danny Wheatley

Age: 47

Location: Orford

Volunteer work: Treasurer of the Mid Orford Residents' Association (MORA)

"My parents Ellen and Bill set up the MORA around 30 years ago and it is still going strong at the hub on Festival Avenue.

"I used to work at the Royal Mail but I took redundancy so I could care for my mum as my dad has passed away.

"I originally started off as member of the association around four to five years ago as it is a great way to meet new people.

"Last year I was appointed as treasurer.

"The best part of the group is that there is always someone available for a chat, a brew, or to help solve any problems any residents have in Orford and we can point them in the direction of help.

"There is bingo on a Monday and a luncheon club on Wednesday and regular trips and activities planned.

"My mum still goes once a week and enjoys it.

"It is great and there is always something to look forward to."
