POLICE are appealing for information after an elderly man was burgled on Thursday morning in Walton.
Thieves forced their way into the man’s home while he was out and stole a safe containing valuable items and a large amount of cash.
The incident happened on Red Lane at around 9.15am and police are asking anybody with information to come forward.
DC Richard Whitehead said: “This has devastated the elderly victim who is being supported by police and his family.
“Red Lane is a busy road near to a school. There will have been plenty of people around at this time who may have seen something that will help police to find those responsible.
“If you have any information please contact me, even if you think it might be insignificant - because it may not be, so pick up the phone and call 101.”
Anyone with information should call Police on 101 with incident number 550 of 23 June 2016.
