RADIO X will be showcasing Viola Beach's debut LP tonight before its release tomorrow, Friday.

Following the tragic death of band members Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe and Jack Dakin, and their manager Craig Tarry, the decision was made to release their album posthumously in their memory.

Radio X presenter Maz Tappuni from Communion worked closely with the four-piece and will play all nine tracks from their self-titled LP, interspersed with tributes and testimonials from their loved ones tonight from 9pm.

Fellow musicians Eliza and the Bear and Blossoms also feature on the hour-long special.

Mike Walsh, Radio X Head of Music, said: “We were lucky enough to cross the path of Viola Beach very early on here at Radio X and were all struck by their energy and potential.

"We were horribly shaken by the news of the tragic accident in February and decided then to honour the memory of the band as much as we can.

"The more music we heard, the more we loved it and it seemed natural to tell their story, and our special album playback show is one of the ways that we’re celebrating the music of this brilliant young band.

"We hope that as many people as possible hear this truly great British debut album.”

Tune in to Radio X tonight, Thursday, from 9pm to hear Viola Beach’s debut album played in full, the night before it’s released.
