DRUGS and cash have been seized following a week-long search on a warehouse on Bewsey Industrial Estate.
The search concluded on Wednesday – one week after officers descended on the premises on Hoyle Street on Wednesday, July 20, at 8am as part of a warrant executed under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
Cheshire Police have denied claims that the investigation is linked to work carried out by the National Crime Agency.
Warrington CID have been in charge of the investigation.
Earlier this week, a spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "We understand that some residents may be concerned by the police presence in the area but we want to reassure the public that officers are just carrying out a search warrant.
"This is taking a protracted period of time due to the complexities of the site.
"We are aware of rumours circulating about explosions and gunshots but we can confirm that this has not taken place."
No arrests have been made at this stage.
The suspected illicit drugs have been sent for forensic examination to identify the substances.
