THE body of a man has been found amid a large emergency service presence near to Warrington Town Hall.
A number of Cheshire Police vehicles were spotted in the vicinity and in Bank Park this morning, Tuesday, as well as a police tape cordon.
The force has confirmed that officers attended Bank Park following calls reporting concern for the welfare of a man.
Sadly, they discovered a body on attendance, with enquiries ongoing.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 7.56am on Tuesday, April 16, police were called to reports of concerns for the welfare of a man in Bank Park, Warrington.
“Officers and paramedics attended, and sadly a 47-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing on behalf of the coroner.”
