THE Body Shop UK owes Warrington Borough Council £1,289 in rent after it entered administration in February.
At the time, the retailer closed nearly half of its 198 UK outlets, excluding Warrington’s branch in The Golden Square which remained open.
Tony Wright, joint administrator said: “In taking swift action to right-size The Body Shop UK store portfolio, we have stabilised the business and are providing the best opportunity for this iconic brand to have a long-term, sustainable future.
“The UK business continues to trade in administration, and we remain fully focussed on exploring all options to take the business forward.”
When The Body Shop entered administration, it owed more than £276million to landlords, suppliers, and tax authorities across the world.
The administrator’s proposal for the company went live this week and revealed a list of businesses and organisations owed money by the cosmetics giant.
Warrington Borough Council is among the creditors owed money, as it is owed £1,286 in rent from the Golden Square branch.
