More than £1,000 arrived at the Warrington Guardian offices for Bobby Brown today.

The sum included $30 from a man in California and £101 from the Warrington Conservative Club.

The Little Wonders Day Nursery also sent in £88.

Bobby's Fund now has the entire £50,000 needed to pay for his sight-saving cornea transplant in New York.

But the Brown family is still appealing for donations, as Bobby will need aftercare for the forseeable future and it is likely to be provided either in London or Dublin.

The Browns are flying to New York on Thursday to meet Professor James Aquavella, the specialist surgeon who will carry out Bobby's operations.

They are scheduled for Tuesday, April 21 and April 28.

Over the weekend Specsavers Opticians raised £1,085 by collecting donations from shoppers and making a £5 donation for each eye test done on Saturday.
