IT was only 18 months ago that BiG Storage made the big move to Warrington.
And the storage retailer has been so successful that it was named business of the year at Friday’s Warrington Business Awards.
Based on Manchester Road in Woolston the company made its name in Chester before enjoying success in Warrington.
Partner Andrew Donaldson said: “We are very proud and very pleased to be recognised by the Warrington community.
“It has been really hard work for the last nine months but I am a great believer in ‘you get out what you put in’.
“Our business model is to improve turnover and we have done that at a time when most businesses would be happy to stand still.”
The company has more than 50 businesses based at the site using it as an officer, lock up or for storage space.
But it also operates in the domestic sector providing space for people on the move or even for space following death or divorce.
Since moving into Warrington, BiG Storage has also gained a high profile, securing sponsorship with Warrington Wolves, organising charity efforts for St Rocco’s and bringing players from Basketball side BiG Storage Cheshire Jets into primary schools through its Hoop for Health schemes.
Andrew added: “Warrington is Cheshire and Cheshire is Warrington.
“We had a business here before and wanted to come back. We have a good location and it was a good opportunity to set up here.”
