I was lucky enough to attend the Miss Cumbria final on July 3rd. The glamorous event was held at the University of Cumbria’s Brampton Road campus, in Carlisle.
I knew exactly how all the contestants were feeling so tried my best to give them any tips and relax them as I didn’t want their nerves getting the better of them! There were 18 beautiful girls in the competition and the judges had such a difficult job – I was relieved that I didn’t have to judge them!
I attended the final along with some members of ‘Team North!’ I had great fun with Noopur Sharma – Miss Charity Bolton, Leigh Osgerby – Miss Preston, Abi Bridgeman – Miss Southport and Kerry Capoverde – Miss Fylde. Team North consists of Miss England heat winners from the North & Northwest of England, as organised by MDC Events Ltd. It might be cheesy but we love our nickname!
The winner of Miss Cumbria was Kirsty Day and I was so happy for her. She is beautiful and looked fantastic on stage – she is going to have a great year and I can’t wait to see her at the Miss England final in Birmingham!
