Over the weekend, I attended a Dragon Boat Race for the Warrington charity, St Rocco's Hospice. I have to say, I had no idea what to expect but it really was a fantastic day!

The race was held at Warrington Boat Club and fortunately, the British weather was on our side and there was not a spot of rain. It was a miracle!

It was a lot of fun to watch and everybody made a real effort - several of the teams had come in fancy dress, from pirates to pyjamas!

I was honoured to present the awards with the Deputy Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Ted Finnegan. However, the most important trophy of the day went to the PQ Pirates who were selected as having the best outfits!

Well done to St Rocco's for organising such a fantastic event!
