FORMER Warrington Wolves forward Noel Lightfoot has died, aged 64.
His funeral will take place at St Elphin's Church on Tuesday at 11.15am.
Former roofer Lightfoot made 15 appearances for Wolves' first team between 1971 and 1972.
The back rower figured even more prominently for the A team.
He made his first-team debut on 6 February 6, 1971, in a win against Castleford and kept his spot for the next six games, with one of his appearances coming in the front row.
Injury finished his season early and then in the summer of 1971 Alex Murphy took over at Warrington and Lightfoot found it tough to break into the first team.
He made eight appearances that season, six of which were as a substitute.
His final first-team appearance was on April 5, 1972, in a 22-9 defeat at Oldham.
Lightfoot remained a regular in the Warrington A team for many seasons and in 1973-74 he was a member of the team that won the Lancashire Combination Shield.
For many years Lightfoot was a member of the Vice President’s Association at the club and in recent times an active member of the Warrington Players Association.
Warrington Wolves have sent their condolences to his wife Linda and family.
