CROFT came from two goals behind to progress in the Warrington and District League Guardian Cup.
Robert Hunt proved to be a hero, netting twice in the second half as well as bagging the killer in extra time.
Rainhill established their advantage with two long-range efforts inside the opening 20 minutes.
Croft put pressure on the visitors' defence in the second half and got back into the game with a fine volley from Hunt.
The equaliser came after a quick counter attack down the right, with Nigel Maas squaring for Hunt to grab his second.
Croft took the lead in the first half of extra time with a fine individual effort from Maas and completed the win with a with a cheeky chip from Hunt over the onrushing Rainhill goalkeeper.
