PUPILS at Broomfield Junior School are celebrating after winning the Warrington and Cheshire Sainsbury's School Games basketball competition.
Year Six pupils from the school, on Bridge Lane, were successful at the regional event in Crewe having previously won their local competition in Warrington.
“We are elated for them,” said head teacher Keith Greenwood.
“We have got a big drive on sports in all kinds of different ways and as varied a range as possible.
“We have always been keen to enter teams into a wide range of sports to give children different opportunities.
“We had a fantastic celebration in school. It’s recognition not only for doing well, but for fair play and supporting each other.”
The winning team was made up of Fraser Ford, Will Hutchinson, Charlie Lummis, Bertie Small, Emily Atkinson, James Harrop.
