LEE Briers says he has a selection headache ahead of Wolves under 19s’ clash with Leeds Rhinos on Thursday after an impressive win against Hull KR.

Wolves ran in seven tries during a 36-16 win at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday.

Briers said: “That was a real tough game and I thought we competed superbly and fully deserved the victory.

“The way that the lads stuck to the gameplan and didn’t panic was very pleasing and I am over the moon for them all. Hull KR are a very tough, physical side who have plenty of quality throughout their team but I thought my boys really stood up to the plate and got their just desserts.

“Our defence was excellent and that allowed us to soak up a fair amount of pressure and when we got the ball in our hands we caused plenty of problems for the opposition.

“ All of the 17 players can be really proud with their contribution and it goes to show how much the lads want to play for each other when they dig in like they did; there is a lot of quality in our squad and I will certainly have a good selection headache for next Thursday’s game at Leeds.”

He was particularly impressed with David Foggin-Johnston, who scored three tries.

“David Foggin-Johnston came in for his first game of the season against Cumbria and scored three tries and he has collected another hat-trick with each of them out of the top drawer.

“He is playing with confidence and with a smile on his face, which is great to see.

“We will now work hard in training over the next few days and make sure we are in the best possible shape for the Leeds game.”

The game takes place at Stanningley ARLFC, kick off 7.30pm.
