MONK Sports Club will be a hive of activity on Saturday when Woolston Rovers hold a charity day in aid of Ronald McDonald House (Alder Hey).

Several junior games that will act as curtain raisers for the Past v Present game that will see some of the Rovers ‘greats’ over the past 20 to 30 years taking on the current players in the annual ‘Noah Horrigan Trophy’ encounter.

If you wish to take part in the game contact Dave Whalley on 07809 647014 for further details.

There will be fun for all the family with bouncy castles, raffles, auctions, tombolas that will complement the on-field action at the Hillock Lane venue in Woolston.

The day commences at 11.30am, with the first game starting at 11.45am between Woolston Rovers Golds Under 10s and Westhoughton Lions Under 10s.

That is followed at 12.45pm when the Rovers cubs will play against each other, showcasing the talent that we have at such a young age.

The final Junior game starts at 1.30pm when the Under 7s Greens play the Under 7s Golds and then the Past v Present game commences at 2.30pm.

In the evening there will be live music from Irish and Celtic Rock band The Bog Trotters - this commences at 7.30pm and tickets are £3 each.
