WOOLSTON Rovers will be hoping that they can get back to winning ways when they entertain Wibsey Warriors in the Kingstone Press National Conference League Division Three on Saturday afternoon.

Kick off is 2.30pm at Monks Sports Club, Hillock Lane, Woolston.

Rovers' recent good run came to an end against a very well-drilled Drighlington last Saturday but they can take heart from a wholehearted performance considering they were without twelve regulars due to injury and holidays.

Head coach John Fieldhouse said after the game: “We made a few errors at the beginning of both halves and Drighlington capitalised on them.

“I couldn’t fault the effort of all 17 players who never gave up and finished really strongly; maybe if the game had gone on for another 10 minutes we would have snatched it but it wasn’t to be.

“We just need to dust ourselves down and get back to winning ways next weekend against Wibsey.

“We will hopefully have a few bodies back to give us a bit more depth but I have confidence that whatever side I put out they will be capable of doing a job and getting us the vital two points that will get us back on track.”

Rovers A entertain the RAF Academy this Wednesday evening in a friendly fixture; kick off is 7pm at Monks Sports Club and that is followed a week later (Wednesday, August 5) by a home game against Crosfields A in the Stuart Middleton Foundation Warrington Alliance Cup semi final.

Kick off is 7pm at Monks Sports Club.
