LYMM Hockey Club will celebrate their 10th anniversary with a party next month.

Organisers are inviting all past and present members to gather and mark the club's substantial progress over a decade.

In 2005 a small gathering of men, from a variety of hockey backgrounds, formed a team which became the foundation of today's Lymm Hockey Club – one which is far beyond the founders’ expectations.

Four men’s teams, five women's teams, a mixed team and a variety of junior teams across a range of age groups for both boys and girls are regularly fielded.

David Antonelli, current director of coaching and founder member, said: “With our thriving junior section, many of whom we are proud to say have progressed to county and even regional level, we know that Lymm Hockey Club will continue to be successful for many years to come.

“The ladies' first team have risen through the Cheshire League and beyond with last season gaining further promotion into the Northern League, which is exceptional for such a young club.”

Women's club captain Liz Hopkinson added: “I was the first lady member and I have loved being part of Lymm Hockey Club and watching it grow.

“I have made lots of new friends and am proud to see that not just individuals, but whole families are involved with the club at a variety of levels.

“That is what Lymm Hockey Club is about – we are one big family and we are always looking to welcome new members.”

To celebrate, 'Party at the Park' will be held at the Park Royal Hotel in Stretton on Saturday, September 12.

Tickets are £35 per head and include a three-course meal and entertainment.
