FRIENDS Andrew Bentley and Martin Richardson will head into the season decider sitting first and second in their Class Championship.
The pair were racing their MGBs in Oulton Park's Gold Cup at the weekend, with Warrington's Richardson edging Lymm's Bentley by one position.
Richardson qualified in 11th and Bentley behind him in 13th and it all looked like they were going to have a close race.
Bentley, who had a slightly better start, went into the first corner side by side with Richardson.
The Warrington driver was able to regain the advantage over Bentley before the end of the lap for the pair to be 11th and 12th and remain there to the finish flag some 40 minutes later.
The final round takes place at Silverstone in October.
