BUDDING future stars of Women's Super League put on a fine show in an event staged at Crosfields Recreation Ground by Warrington Girls.
Thirty-three matches were contested by 118 girls from 10 teams in the Under 11s War of the Roses Festival.
The Warrington side faced competition from Blackbrook Royals, Dewsbury Moor, Halton Farnworth Hornets, Haydock Warriors, Hull All Stars, Sheffield Hawks, St Cuthberts, Stanningley and Barrow Island.
Scores were not kept or winners/losers confirmed as per Rugby Football League rules at under 11s level. All teams were considered winners for attending and playing.
Young referees volunteered their time for the day and Warrington Wolves mascot Wolfie was getting up to mischief while cheering them all on, while Warrington Wolves Women Super League player Armani Sharrocks worked the tannoy, announcing all the matches, while also helping the bottle tombola - one of many stalls adding to the carnival occasion.
The day started with a parents/coaches versus players touch match, which was won by the adults.
Warrington Girls under 14s also took on Thatto Heath in a tough match which the visitors won to clinch the shield that was donated by Personalised Awards.
