WARRINGTON Athletics Club’s under 17s women’s team finished fifth in the National Road Relay Championships in Sutton Coldfield.
Esme Heavy was first to race and performed well to hand over in sixth place in 13mins 51secs.
Hannah Hull took over and held onto sixth spot as she recorded the 10th fastest time on the stage with 14mins 46secs.
Imogen Wharton ran the fifth fastest time of the final stage with 14mins 09secs to move the team up to finish fifth.
Meanwhile, Two Warrington AC runners took part in the Chester Metric Marathon (26.2 kilometres/16.3 miles) on Sunday in the unseasonal heat over a hilly course.
Louise Blizzard finished in 47th place overall, placing her fourth woman and winning the women’s over 45s age group with 1hr 58mins 21secs.
Mervyn Ward was 119th overall when winning the over 65s age group in 2hrs 12mins 35secs.
