THE prime minister has announced that a general election will be held in the second half of this year.
We see that the Labour party has selected councillor Sarah Hall as its parliamentary candidate for Warrington South, and we await to hear from the Conservatives whom they select.
Our current MP for Warrington South, Conservative Andy Carter, has made it clear that he is not standing for re-election in this constituency at the next election.
He first announced it was to spend more time with his family, and then he flipped flopped and it was because he was seeking selection in the Waveney Valley constituency in Suffolk, two hundred miles away.
I wonder if Mr Carter’s unsuccessful bid was anything to do with him sitting on the privileges committee in judgement of former prime minister Boris Johnson?
Anyhow, with the Conservatives are predicted to suffer a humiliating defeat at the next general election, could the self-interest actions of forked tongued Mr Carter put the final nail in the coffin of the Conservatives in South Warrington.
